Hot Momma

One of our favorite moms-to-be. Had a great time doing this shoot. There is always something different about women who are comfortable in their own skin while pregnant. Brad Pitt said he loved Angelina's sexy curves when she was expecting and even photographed her. I wish more moms could be as comfortable as this. I wonder if I will have the same courage to celebrate it in this way when my turn comes...at least I know - Stan has my shoot covered ;D

Look what The Stork Brought In!

Isaac was the sweetest little 9 day old boy today.
We were able to sneak in some Christmas themed shots as well.

I can't wait to see this little heart breaker grow in the coming months.

I've had this shot in mind for about a month now
and was thrilled when Isaac's parents were willing to come and do it!
So happy!

Willow

Don't you just love the name? Her parents brought her over this morning and we had a great time together doing these newborn photos. She is 9 days old here and cute as a button!

I love how she is so snug as a bug.

These are some of the shots we will be doing for newborns this year for holiday photographs of parents who want their Christmas cards or even wrapping paper personalized.

Very excited about these because I've been wanting to do this for awhile now (Christmas only comes once a year!)

Louise

Lovely moment between Mother and Child.
I must say, pwedeng pang "Johnson's Baby" ito!

This has been one of my "dream shots" to take.
Ever since I started with this, I've been waiting for a shot like this. Finally got it.

Baby Louise and mommy Janice were such sweethearts to shoot. Capturing moments like these are what make my heart swell with joy.

Today is our 1st Birthday!!!

Exactly a year ago on May 31st, The Stork Studio had its first shoot. We invited a few close friends with children to a rented studio and shot all day (boy were we pooped after!). I remember the nervousness, the excitement and laughs we had that day. Stan and I were new to the whole experience and just had basic lights, we were feeling our way through each shoot and family but were so lucky to have had such great models and we came out with some pretty awesome shots, some of which still take our breath away today. I remember thinking that evening that I had no idea where this would lead us but I was willing to take a chance and just go with it. I remember praying and offering up this venture and just telling God that everything was in his hands from that point on.

The response in this past year has been a dream come true. The word of mouth and referrals have poured in and Stan and I are so thankful, and grateful for the hundreds of clients that we have had so far. Each time we shoot is a different experience and its in this experience - when we get the "feeling" (of having that perfect shot) that we are fulfilled.

Looking forward, we can only hope for the best. We don't know what the future holds for us except that God's in charge and that we love what we do and will keep doing it until we become - the #1 baby and maternity photographers in the country :)
Thank you once again to our very first clients last May 31st, 2008: Nikka, Paul and Tybalt, Monica and Santi, Noelle and Kai, Ninay, Bacchus and Jacobo, Andie, Steve and Ava, Marto, Denise, Aidan and Cody and lastly Leslie and Diego - without you we would not have come this far. Thank you!

Emily

Mother and Child bonding

I love Emily's blue eyes.

Mommy Beth is the coolest mom.

I find this so precious.

Here are the boys!

This family came to us a few months ago for some pregnancy photos of mom and her two boys Connor and Tyler - that shoot was a super enjoyable experience as we got to know each other and the boys were adorable. Little Emily was born soon after and they came back with the whole brood (with Dad this time too) and we had a great time taking their first family photos with the new special addition - Emily who has to most beautiful blue eyes. Family photography is important to Stan and me because kids do grow up to fast. We really aim to give families the kind of photos that they can keep for generations. This shoot was a lot of fun as usual, the two boys were wonderful big brothers and the closeness of the family really showed in their photos. Relationships with our clients are important to us and we try to really build good rapport with them. I feel like I'm so lucky to be taking their pictures...its as if they let us into their little cocoon if only for a couple of hours.

Morgan Ruth Hero

Paul and Nikka's little girl with big brother Tybalt. Nikka has been a long-time childhood friend and I'm so happy to have been able to take some of the first photos of her little daughter "Hero". What cool names they have for their kids!

Happy Mother's Day!

To all the Wonderful Moms out there who have had sleepless nights, come armed with wet-ones, and a million kisses, tender touches and warm milk and cookies, who have read to us and sang to us, raised an eyebrow and defended us, who have bathed us and watched movies over and over with us, who loved us when we were naughty and love us to this day... this is for you (thank your Riya for sharing).

Shihab Nye, a poet, wrote down lines that her three year old had said growing up.
she rolled them all together into this wonderful piece that makes motherhood indeed, priceless.

___________________________________________________________

Music lives inside my legs.
It's coming out when I talk.

I'm going to send my valentines
To people you don't even know.

Oatmeal cookies make my throat gallop.

Grown-ups keep their feet on the ground
When they swing. I hate that.

Look at those 2 o's with a smash in the middle—
That spells goodbye.

Don't ever say “purpose” again,
Let's throw that word out.

Don't talk big to me.
I'm carrying my box of faces.
If I want to change faces I will.

Yesterday faded
But tomorrow's in BOLD FACE.

When I grow up my old names
Will live in the house
Where we live now.
I'll come and visit them.

Only one of my eyes is tired.
The other eye and my body aren't.

Is it true that all metal was liquid first?
Does that mean if we bought our car earlier
They could have served it
In a cup?

There's a stopper in my arm
That's not going to let me grow any bigger.
I'll be like this always, small.

And I will be deep water too.
Wait. Just wait. How deep is the river?
Would it cover the tallest man with his hands in the air?

Your head is a souvenir.

When you were in New York I could see you
In real life walking in my mind.

I'll invite a bee to live in your shoe.
What if you found your shoe
Full of honey?

What if the clock said 6:92
Instead of 6:30? Would you be scared?

My tongue is the car wash
For the spoon.

Can noodles swim?

My toes are dictionaries.
Do you need any words?

From now on I'll only drink white milk
On January 26.

What does minus mean?
I never want to minus you.

Just think—no one has ever seen
Inside this peanut before!

It is hard being a person.

I do and don't love you—
Isn't that happiness?

Storklings and Nestings

For The Stork Studio, April was a month of huggable happy babies and hot moms-to-be. I really love taking photos of babies because it helps me wind down after a hectic week. Stan and I usually have a "feeling" when we have our "perfect shot" and we don't stop shooting until we get one. These range from stolen moments to all the way down to fresh tears or tiny hands clasping a mom's finger or a wet kiss. When people ask us how we do it, I usually say - we get lucky (and we have quick reflexes). It's quite difficult especially since kids are really unpredictable and you really have to be good at motivating them (which isn't always 100% effective) but so far, we have indeed, been blessed :) With our maternity shoots, I enjoy them particularly because we get to experiment with lighting and push our creativity. Adults are also easier to talk to of course. In May, its our first anniversary, and I can't believe how far we've come...from a dream of mine back in 2001 to our first shoot in 2005 with Bacchus and Ninay's little Jacobo to more than 100 clients later and a partnership with several magazines, we are so lucky. There are times that I get overwhelmed with the enormity of the blessings and support from our friends and family. Living this dream is pretty amazing, and I can't wait to see what's next. May is going to be a celebratory month for us as we reach our first birthday (expect some surprises and great deals). Here are some of my favorite shots from this month :)

Birth Announcements

For newborn shoots, we offer Personalized Birth Announcements of your little one for you to email and/or send out to family and friends to celebrate this special time.

Newborns

Photographing newborns is such a magical moment for us. Personally, these little ones are my favorite subjects. Its so important to have the right atmosphere and lighting technique when we shoot these precious little bundles. Stan and I take a lot of care with them and really make an effort to get the best shots.

Georgia and Nadia (maternity)

One of our favorite moms (Georgia) and little girls (Nadia) are expecting a new addition to their family! We are thrilled to be able to capture this special moment with them.

WorkingMom Editorial March 09

We've been doing some of the editorial photos for WorkingMom this year, decided to post a few samples. This month, we got featured in a full page article on pregnancy photos right alongside the country's best. Stan and I love doing maternity shots because we can really push our creativity and lighting. Ofcourse it also helps when the mom wants artsy shots. Yes, we actually have done the Vanity Fair - Demi Moore shot for a client. Super fun =)

2009 Newsletter

To Our Dearest Friends and Family,
Happy New Year to you all!
We at The Stork Studio are so grateful to have friends like you who supported our work throughout 2008 and made
our year so blessed. We are so fortunate and thankful for each and every one of you and your little ones. In the last 6 months that we've been up and running, Stan and I have taken so many great photos that sometimes we look back at our first photo shoot last May 31, 2008 with such awe. We have indeed come so far from a hope and a wish and our first photograph 3 years ago of little Jacobo Ledesma (who's photo by the way is featured in Working Mom Magazine for Dec-Jan).
Please continue to visit our websites as we have more news and updates on our galleries, packages (we now have birthday packages and videos!).
One of the biggest things that we have lined up for 2009 is a partnership with WORKING MOM magazine on a monthly basis to do the photography for one of their sections! Needless to say, we are thrilled!! The Stork Studio has been featured in Real Living (Dec Issue), Good Housekeeping (Nov Issue), Working Mom (Dec-Jan Issue and our biggest spread to date!) and Baby Magazine (Jan Issue), Cradle Magazine (Launch issue) and Philippine Daily Inquirer as well. We have more magazine prospects as well in the works (crossing our fingers!). The word of mouth referrals have been phenomenal, we are so amazed and thankful!
For all these andmore, we are so grateful to you all, for letting us capture your memories and share these moments with you. When we look at the work we have done, it really brings a smile to our faces and fills our hearts to have been a part of a place where great photographs are born.
Thank you once again and we look forward to seeing you and your little loves in life again this year!
Be Blessed.
